BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Uzbekistan and
Tajikistan are expanding agricultural cooperation through practical
projects in cotton and grain production, food processing,
agrologistics and exports.
This was reflected in a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture
of Uzbekistan, following the participation of Uzbekistan’s Deputy
Agriculture Minister, J. Abduzuhurov, in the Food Industry Forum
and the UPAK EXPO-2026 international exhibition in Tajikistan.
At the forum’s opening ceremony and plenary session, Abduzuhurov
outlined Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop agricultural processing,
modern agrologistics and packaging infrastructure, as well as
attract investment to the sector.
The discussions focused on processing and exporting agricultural
products, ensuring food security and expanding international
cooperation.
As part of the visit, Abduzuhurov met with Bahromjon Rajab
Ahmadzoda, Tajikistan’s deputy agriculture minister, to review the
progress of joint projects in cotton production, grain farming and
other agricultural areas.
The sides agreed to accelerate the implementation of existing
projects, improve coordination and strengthen direct working
contacts between relevant organizations in the two countries.
“Strengthening direct working contacts between the responsible
organizations will help accelerate the implementation of joint
agricultural projects and improve coordination between the two
sides,” the Uzbek Agriculture Ministry said.
Abduzuhurov also visited UPAK EXPO-2026, where Uzbek companies
including CITRIC.UZ, EUROSNAB, PLAST TECH SOLUTION (FOOD PACK),
ASIA PACK and STAR CUP presented their products.
The visit is expected to support the expansion of
Uzbekistan-Tajikistan cooperation in agriculture, food processing,
agricultural exports and related industries, with a focus on
practical projects and closer business ties.
