Bangkok, 3 December 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that southern Thailand has largely returned to normal after recent floods. Airports, major transportation, and attractions have resumed operations across the region. Areas like Hat Yai, Yala, and Pattani are progressively restoring accessibility. Most main roads and airports are functional, although some attractions and minor routes are under repair. In Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang, conditions stabilized quickly, with major transport services operational and most attractions open.
Reviving Local Economies
TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, expressed gratitude to travelers and partners for their patience. With conditions stabilizing, TAT is evaluating the tourism impact and collaborating with local entities to support recovery. Initiatives include adjusting market strategies and enhancing travel confidence through targeted promotions and events. This strategy aims to rejuvenate local economies, especially in affected areas. Although some sites in the Khao Banthat Range remain closed, rail services continue to operate with adjustments.
Full Services in Popular Destinations
Popular southern destinations like Phuket, Phang-nga, and Krabi remained fully accessible and continue to welcome visitors. Marine transport is functioning normally, with minor weather-related schedule changes. Most national parks have reopened, except for Mu Ko Chumphon National Park, which is closed for annual maintenance. Nationwide, transport services are stabilizing with airports running regular schedules. Interprovincial bus routes have resumed, and the State Railway of Thailand is offering refunds for affected passengers on adjusted Southern Line services.
