Swiss Post plans to cut up to 110 jobs
In yet another round of job cuts in Switzerland, the Swiss Post said on Monday it would eliminate up to 110 positions in 2027.
It attributes these measures to the need to save money due to decline in letter volumes and over-the-counter transactions.
“Growth in new business areas and pricing adjustments are not yet sufficient to offset the drop in revenue,” the company said.
These job losses will not be the only ones: other companies Switzerland also said they would be eliminating a number of positions:

Swiss study: Regulated cannabis sales reduce health risks
Commercial sales of marijuana are still outlawed in Switzerland.
But according to a study carried out in Bern, Lucerne, and Biel/Bienne, the regulated sale of cannabis in pharmacies has no negative impact on drug consumption – quite the opposite, in fact.
The study found that controlled sale of cannabis encourages lower-risk consumption and does not lead to an increase in the frequency of use.

Government mulls mandatory renovation of old houses

Among the new regulations – already in place for new constructions – would be obligatory solar panels.
The new plan – which would be phased-in starting in 2030 – would affect houses constructed before 1980.
A cold front is set to cause a 10C-drop in temperatures
According to MeteoSwiss meteorological institute, the arrival of a cold front between today and Wednesday will bring wetter and, above all, cooler weather across the country.
Lower temperatures will be particularly noticeable during the second half of the week, when temperatures are expected to fall by around 10C, accompanied by “strong gusts, particularly in the evening and overnight.”
