If moisture or droplets appear on the side facing the wall, it could indicate that the dampness is coming from within the wall. However, this test is only an indication and cannot confirm the exact source of a leak.
What if the foil remains dry?
If the foil is dry after 48 hours, it may suggest that no significant moisture accumulated underneath it during the test. Dampness appearing on the exposed side of the wall could instead be associated with humidity or condensation in the room.
However, a dry result does not completely rule out a moisture problem, particularly if other signs of dampness are present.
