Data from the social network has revealed that 67 percent of workers surveyed in Spain feel ill-prepared to find a new job in 2026.

The increasingly demanding and competitive job market is shaped by the emergence of new technologies that many feel they don’t have enough experience of.

A total 58 percent of the professionals surveyed even believe that finding a job in 2026 will be more difficult today than it was a year ago.

According to Virginia Collera, head of LinkedIn News Spain and Latin America, the labour market is going through a period of accelerated transformation, in which many professionals know they want to change jobs, but are not always clear on how to take the next step.

To try and help professionals feel more prepared for finding a job in 2026, LinkedIn has said it will introduce two new AI-powered tools in Spain that facilitate, as well as optimise the job search process. Look out for these when applying this year.

Employment is expected to increase by 2.3 percent in 2026 in Spain, while the unemployment rate is projected to fall to an average of 10 percent annually.

If these projections are correct, the Spanish economy will have generated more than 1.5 million jobs between 2024 and 2026.
