Election Schedule:
April 9 — Kerala, Puducherry, and Assam (single phase)
April 23 — Tamil Nadu (single phase) and West Bengal Phase I
April 29 — West Bengal Phase II
Voter Turnout:
A late Saturday night release from the Election Commission of India said that 4,87,98,833 votes were polled in Tamil Nadu. Of these, 2,52,59,596 were female voters, 2,35,34,720 were male voters and 4,517 were transgender voters. The total voter turnout stood at 85.10 per cent.
Many exit polls had predicted a return of DMK alliance to power.

As a first-time initiative, the Election Commission of India has introduced a QR code-based Photo Identity Card system through ECINET with the objective of preventing unauthorised entry into counting centres. At the third and innermost security checkpoint, entry will be permitted only upon successful verification through QR code scanning, the EC said.

Tamil Nadu Assembly elections results Live Updates: Multi-tier security deployed outside Chennai’s Loyola College ahead of vote count
Heavy three-layer security was deployed early morning on Monday to prepare for the vote count of the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.Dozens of security personnel were deployed at the gate of the college, with barricades in place as officials checked every vehicle coming in.
Loyola College is one of the counting centers that houses the EVMs for counting. Queen Mary’s College and Anna University are also some of the other counting centres set up for today.
