Paléo Festival, held every summer in the Swiss town of Nyon in Vaud, has been named the best music festival in Europe.

This honour is reserved for music events which attract more than 40,000 festival-goers per day (Paléo boasts about 230,000 over its five-day duration), and provide “a festival of outstanding quality, both in terms of its line-up and the overall experience offered to the public.”

World-class performers

Paléo, which brings to mind (to those who can remember) the famous US Woodstock music festival of 1969 because it too takes place in a big open-air field and many attendees sleep in tents, is one of the major music events in Europe and the biggest in Switzerland

It features such music genres as rock, pop, hip-hop/rap, and electronic.

Over the years, world-renowned artists like Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Sting, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maidens, as well as scores (no pun intended) of others performed at this festival.

This year, Paléo will take place from July 21st to July 26th, with the line-up of artists to be unveiled on March 17th; tickets will be available from March 25th.

How and where can you get tickets to this year’s event?

Let’s just say you need to be really quick on your feet or, more precisely, with your fingers.

That’s because once they go on sale, they are gone within minutes.

For example, according to the festival’s management, “the 2025 festival’s 210,000 tickets sold out in a record 13 minutes, while the 2024 edition sold out in 21 minutes.”

A certain number of tickets go on sale each morning of the festival for that evening’s performances.

To improve your chances, watch the Paléo’s official website to find out on which day in March the Ticket Market, the official platform for buying and reselling tickets at official prices, will go live.

Or, you can download the Paléo app and enable notifications.

This way, you know every time tickets go on sale on the ticket market. (No tickets will be on sale at the festival ticket offices).
