Developed in partnership with Swiss-Ski and Swiss Snowsports, the appExternal link focuses on three key areas: knowing your limits, protecting yourself and staying alert. It has been designed based on the BFU’s expertise in snow sports accidents.

The tool is now an integral part of the basic training for snow sports instructors and J+S instructors. “As role models, these individuals help to ensure that risks are identified and managed correctly. In this way, they help to prevent accidents,” emphasises Benedikt Heer, a specialist at the BFU, quoted in the press release on Tuesday.

The app is also aimed at the general public. For example, it provides reminders on how to wear a helmet correctly, the rules of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation on the slopes, and what to do in the event of an accident.
