Both SWISS and Edelweiss are adding new short and long-haul destinations to and from Swiss cities in 2027, including one transatlantic route.

Airlines typically publish their timetables well in advance, so travellers can plan their flights well in advance.

Let’s look at SWISS’ European flights first.

Don’t miss our journalists’ daily news roundup from Switzerland

The national flagship carrier will launch a seasonal Zurich-to-Toulouse route. It will operate two weekly flights, from June 25th to August 23th.

SWISS is also expanding its service on existing European routes.

The number of weekly flights to Paris, for instance, will increase from 28 to 30, and to Nice from 32 to 34. Additional flights are also planned for Hamburg, Budapest, and Bremen.

The Serbian city of Niš – which the airline added back to its network in 2025 – will now be served throughout the entire summer season, with the number of weekly flights increasing from two to three.

What about long-haul flights?

The new SWISS route from Zurich to Bengaluru, India, which launches on October 28th,  will continue into the summer.

The airline is also increasing flight frequencies to Tokyo, with six weekly flights – up from the current five – scheduled for the period from June to September.

On a North American route, service from Zurich to Montreal is also increasing to daily flights.

(From June 16th, Air Canada will also inaugurate flights between Montreal and Basel EuroAirport).

What about Edelweiss?

SWISS’ sister airline will continue to fly from its Zurich hub to the most popular holiday destinations.

On its US route, it is scrapping Las Vegas from the summer timetable due to lack of demand.

The airline will, however, up its flights to its second US destination – Tampa, Florida – which will be expanded to five per week from early July to early September.

In Africa, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania will be served four times a week. On the seasonal route to Windhoek, Namibia, Edelweiss will operate three flights per week between July and October. There will also be more flights for Cape Town – four flights per week from the autumn 2027.

The airline will also will boost its service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to four flights per week, and will fly to the Seychelles twice a week during the same period.

Also, up to five flights per week are planned to Malé, the Maldives, for the spring, and four flights per week are scheduled for the autumn 2027.

But that’s not all: From June 1st, Switzerland’s regional airline, Helvetic, will add a weekly service from Bern to Patras. on the northwest coast of the Peloponnese in Greece.
