Sharjah announces 4-day New Year holiday

Sharjah has announced an extended holiday to mark New Year and start 2026.

Authorities have announced that Thursday, January 1 will be an official holiday for government entities and institutions

However, with Friday-Sunday forming a typical three-day weekend for the Public Sector in the emirate, it means a de facto four-day break.

Work for public sector workers in Sharjah will resume on Monday, January 5.
