Melco Resorts has opened an office in Bangkok, seeking to invest in Thailand’s integrated resorts as the country considers legalizing gambling, emphasizing cultural and creative collaborations to enhance Thailand’s global presence.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has opened a new office in Bangkok and is assembling a team in Thailand’s capital, as announced by CEO Lawrence Ho during a recent event with the National Soft Power Strategy Committee (THACCA). This partnership aims to enhance Thailand’s cultural identity through innovative contributions across various sectors.

Melco is exploring investment opportunities in hotels and integrated resorts, pending clarification on investment regulations related to entertainment complexes with casinos. Major gaming players from Macau are reportedly looking to invest in Thailand as the country considers legalizing gambling.

The collaboration between Melco and THACCA will kick off with the Global Soft Power Talks on February 24, aiming to elevate Thailand’s cultural strategy. Ho emphasized the company’s commitment to unleashing Thailand’s creative potential, while THACCA’s chairperson noted that this partnership would help showcase Thailand’s cultural assets on the global stage.
