BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Kyrgyzstan’s
Cabinet of Ministers discussed measures to ensure stable supplies
of fuels and lubricants to the domestic market.
This was announced in a report published by the press service of
the Cabinet of Ministers following a meeting chaired by Chairman of
the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential
Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev.
According to the report. the meeting focused on the current
situation in the petroleum products market, including supply
levels, available reserves, and the stable provision of consumers
with the required volumes of fuel and lubricants.
Representatives of relevant state bodies reported on measures
being taken to ensure uninterrupted supplies of petroleum products
and to prevent shortages in the domestic market.
“Following the meeting, several instructions were issued to
state bodies to ensure stable supplies of petroleum products and to
continue close monitoring of the situation on the domestic market,”
the press service said.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan imports the overwhelming majority of its
petroleum products from Russia under annual intergovernmental
supply agreements, making stable fuel deliveries a key issue for
the country’s economy and transport sector. According to the Kyrgyz
Association of Oil Traders, domestic demand totals around 1.6
million tons of petroleum products annually, while fuel reserves
are typically maintained at a level sufficient for one to
one-and-a-half months of consumption.
The issue gained additional importance after Ukrainian drone
strikes on a number of Russian oil refineries disrupted refining
operations and affected fuel supplies across parts of the region.
Although supplies to Kyrgyzstan continue under bilateral
agreements, the government has intensified monitoring of domestic
reserves and market conditions to minimize potential risks to
transport, agriculture and other fuel-intensive sectors.
