BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. Israeli
Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek expressed gratitude to
Azerbaijan for commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, Trend reports.
“Thank you, Azerbaijan, for commemorating this solemn day of
remembrance with us.
Today, we also honor the memory of the 300,000 Azerbaijanis who
sacrificed their lives in the fight against Nazism.
With deep respect, we acknowledge Azerbaijan’s unwavering
commitment to ensuring that Jews have always been safe and felt at
home in this land.
We are profoundly grateful for Azerbaijan’s dedication to the
principle of “Never Again” and for the enduring friendship between
our nations.
The kindness and solidarity shown by the people of Azerbaijan
towards Israel, especially over the past year, deeply touch our
hearts,” the ambassador wrote on his page on X.
