Massive floods in Malaysia and Thailand have killed at least eight people, displacing over 122,000 in Malaysia and affecting 240,000 households in Thailand due to relentless rain.

Severe flooding in Malaysia and Thailand has led to the evacuation of over 122,000 people, with at least eight fatalities reported. In Malaysia’s northern states, particularly Kelantan, relentless rains have caused significant displacement, surpassing the numbers seen in 2014’s devastating floods. Disaster agencies are mobilizing resources as fears of rising water levels loom.

In Thailand, the situation is similarly dire, with nine deaths linked to the floods and over 13,000 people displaced. Rescue teams are actively working to assist stranded residents, while heavy rains continue to impact several provinces. Efforts are being made to provide temporary shelters for those affected.

Authorities in both countries are gearing up to address the crisis, with Malaysia’s National Disaster Command Centre deploying personnel and equipment. Meanwhile, Thailand’s government has allocated funds for relief efforts, emphasizing the need for swift recovery as they anticipate ongoing torrential weather conditions.
