‘Everything’s gone’, BBC finally able to access one of Jamaica’s worst-hit areas

Homes and power lines have been destroyed in the Jamaican tourism hub of Falmouth, which the BBC has finally been able to access after Hurricane Melissa.

Among the buildings damaged is the William Knibb Baptist Church, which was visited by King Charles during a royal tour of the island in 2008.

Electricity companies are trying to restore power in the town as the country continues to grapple with outages after the category five hurricane made landfall on Tuesday.
