British budget airline EasyJet will operate six new routes between Spain and the UK from 2027, including establishing a new base at Girona airport in the north-east of the country.
The airline will offer two new routes between Girona and the UK for the first time in 2027.
The first route – and a first for any airline – between Girona and Liverpool launches on March 28th, 2027, with twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays and an offer of around 9,000 seats.
The second will connect Girona with London-Gatwick from June 3rd, 2027 with three flights a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. This service is expected to carry some 8,000 seats in its first year.
EasyJet’s flights are not the only option on that route, though. Passengers have been able to fly with English low-cost carrier Jet2 between Girona and London-Gatwick twice a week since last November.
EasyJet is also expanding its network in other parts of the country.
Those in Murcia will be able to fly non-stop to Liverpool for the first time when the carrier launches its new route there on March 29th next year. It will fly to the northern English city twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Currently, no other airline flies directly from Girona or Murcia to Liverpool.
First-ever direct flights to Aberdeen from Barcelona and Mallorca
And there are more direct flights to Scotland, too.
Barcelona residents looking to fly direct to Aberdeen will welcome the launch of the new Barcelona-Aberdeen connection on March 31st, 2027 as there are currently no other airlines that offer this route. The EasyJet flights will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Those looking for direct flight options to Aberdeen from Spain in 2026 have to travel to Alicante or Malaga and fly with Ryanair.
A second route to Aberdeen – from Mallorca – will launch on May 3rd, 2027, flying twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Again, EasyJet will be the first airline to offer direct routes from the Balearic island to the northern Scottish city.
Finally, EasyJet will also offer take-offs from Bilbao to Edinburgh from March 30th, with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays each week. This is a first for EasyJet, but Spanish low-cost airline Vueling also operates this route.
