Dreame Mova K10 review: A clean sweep?

It’s been more than a year since we adopted a golden retriever, and while our home is filled with a lot more playfulness and joy, it’s also covered with a lot of fur! This wasn’t always evident till I had the chance to use a laser light to scan the floor and was gobsmacked at how much fur and dander were just invisible to the naked eye. It wasn’t till recently that we thought we’d give a wet vacuum a try. Just in time, we got our hands on what is one of the more affordable wet vacuums in the Indian market right now – the Dreame Mova K10. And, here’s what works, and what could do with a little more improvement.

Design

The Dreame Mova K10’s design is fairly straightforward and intuitive. Upon unboxing, I had minimal parts to assemble to get the machine going. The components that are used the most are the clean and dirty water tanks—both easy to remove, fill, or empty, and then tuck back in place on the vacuum.

There’s an LED display that shows me the different modes to cycle through – Turbo, Auto and Suction, apart from flashing the battery percentage, dirt indicator and other information. For cleaning, there is a front flat scraper to tackle pet fur, hair tangles, and dirt residue, while the rear rubber scraper reduces residual water on a hard floor.

Advantages

One of the most obvious advantages of using the Dreame Mova K10 is that it completely eliminates the need – and the inefficiency – of not only sweeping and mopping, but also of vacuuming. Most dirt, pet (and human) hair, and even mud, is easily cleaned by the vacuum. It’s only stains that have dried on the floor overnight – say, a couple of drops of a whey drink or coffee or a few grains of rice – that sometimes need more than just a couple of swipes to be completely cleaned off the floor.

The second advantage is that it takes just about 600 litres of water to clean a house that’s about 1,100 square feet in size. Most households end up using way more water to clean a home this size.

Thirdly, the self-cleaning mechanism for the device is easy and efficient. Dock it on the stand, and it takes about a minute to self-clean the rollers. Even emptying the used water tank is not too complicated or gross, and the device comes with a brush to clean any residue for this tank as well.

The device packs in two 2,400mAh battery packs, and gives an average run time of around 30 minutes. This is usually sufficient to go over the house (approx. 1,100 sq ft.)once before it needs to be docked in again. Charging fully from zero takes more than an hour.

Room for improvement

The device has self-propelled power traction that pulls it forward when I start using it on the floor. This is designed to be helpful, but the power traction is too strong, and I end up struggling to hold the vacuum back from propelling forward too much in one go. A gentler traction would make it a lot easier to operate.

Secondly, the vacuum isn’t designed to bend and lie flush on the floor, so I can easily reach under sofas and cupboards. So, if I want to clean under these, I need to move the furniture and then mop under.

Thirdly, the voice commands that alert me when the clean water tank is empty, or the battery is low, are actually quite helpful. However, the commands come back to back, in quick succession, and a subtler reminder with more gaps would be more pleasant to hear.

Verdict

The Dreame Mova K10 is a solid entry-level wet-and-dry vacuum cleaner for Indian households, especially those with pets, kids, or simply dust-prone floors. It saves significant time, effort and water compared to traditional sweep-and-mop routines. The self-cleaning function and simple tank design add to user convenience, making it a low-maintenance device. However, the overly eager power traction may feel a bit aggressive for first-time or older users, and the voice alerts could benefit from less frequent delivery. That said, for under ₹25,000, it offers great value, especially for urban Indian homes looking to upgrade their cleaning game without splurging.

Price: ₹19,999
Pros: Cleans wet and dry messes efficiently, uses minimal water, convenient self-cleaning feature, easy to assemble and maintain.
Cons: Harder stains aren’t cleaned as easily, power traction needs to be gentler
