The European Commission and Eurocontrol are stepping up their work on the monitoring, reporting and verification of aviation’s full climate impact by releasing today the third version of the Non-CO₂ Aviation Effects Tracking System (NEATS), an IT platform.

The release includes all required functionalities for the monitoring, reporting and verification process. Following an inclusive and close collaboration with all stakeholders, this platform now makes it possible for aircraft operators, accredited verifiers and competent authorities to complete the entire workflow directly within a single, integrated system.

NEATS is a pioneering IT platform designed to support the implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) by making it possible to track non-CO₂ aviation effects in a robust and harmonized way. It represents a critical step towards a more comprehensive and transparent approach to achieving the aviation climate neutrality target by 2050.

More information is available online.
