Monday’s surge in arabica prices brought the variety’s premium over robusta to the highest on record in data going back to 2008. London futures for the cheaper robusta bean have been trading “in a narrower, steadier band” with expectations of a large harvest from top grower Vietnam, according to a weekly note from coffee importer List + Beisler.
