Former Bosnian Serb military chief Ratko Mladic has died aged 84. The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) convicted Mladic in 2017 for his role in Europe’s worst atrocities since the end of World War II. A United Nations court at The Hague rejected an appeal by Mladic in June 2021, confirming his life prison sentence.
