Blinkit on Thursday launched quick-response ambulance service in Gurugram, aiming to address the challenge of providing reliable emergency medical assistance in urban areas, the company’s Chief Executive Officer Albinder Dhindsa said in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The service starts with five ambulances and will be available for booking through the Blinkit app as it expands to more locations. The rollout of this service in Gurugram marks the initial phase of Blinkit’s broader plan. Over the next two years, the company aims to expand the service to all major cities across the country.
The initiative offers Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances equipped with critical life-saving equipment. These include oxygen cylinders, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a stretcher, a monitor, a suction machine, and emergency medicines and injections, Dhindsa said, adding that each ambulance is staffed by a trained paramedic, an assistant, and a driver to ensure efficient service during emergencies.
