Adani Green Energy H1 Update: Operational capacity rises 24% YoY to 20,763 MW, energy sales jump 32%

Adani Green Energy reported a 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase in operational capacity to 20,763 MW in the first half of FY27, while the sale of energy rose 32% YoY to 25,747 million units (MU), supported by capacity additions.

The company added 4,083 MW of greenfield capacity during H1 FY27, including 621 MW during the second quarter.

During the September quarter, AGEL operationalised 3,081 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity at Khavda. Its total installed battery energy storage capacity stood at 6,632 MWh at the end of H1 FY27.

AGEL said its operational portfolio of 20,763 MW powered more than 4.4 million homes and helped avoid 17.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions during the first half.

Plant availability supports generation performance

The company’s solar portfolio recorded a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 22.9%, with plant availability at 99.3%. The wind portfolio reported a CUF of 42.9% and plant availability of 94.6%, while the hybrid portfolio posted a CUF of 45.2%, supported by plant availability of 98.8%.

The increase in energy sales during H1 FY27 reflects the expansion of AGEL’s operational renewable energy portfolio over the period.

Recognition across sustainability and power generation

AGEL said it was ranked number one globally in the Alternative Electricity Subsector by FTSE Russell for the second consecutive year.

Its Khavda battery energy storage system project received the Largest Project of the Year Award at IESW 2026. The company also received the Clean Power Generation Award at the Reuters Energy Industry Awards 2026 in New York.

AGEL was ranked number one in the utility sector by NSE Sustainability Ratings and Analytics for the second consecutive year. It also received a CareEdge-ESG 1+ rating with a score of 87.3, which the company said was the highest ever assigned across sectors, for the second consecutive year.

The company was ranked number one in the power generation sector by CRISIL for the fifth consecutive year.

Q2 results on October 21

The company’s board of directors will meet on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to consider and approve the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026.

Adani Green Energy shares

Shares of Adani Green Energy settled at Rs 1,255.80 on the NSE, up 1.63% from the previous close of Rs 1,235.70. The stock traded in a range of Rs 1,238.40 to Rs 1,275 during the session.

The stock has gained 22.41% so far in 2026, according to the supplied data, outperforming the benchmark indices, while the Nifty has declined by nearly 14% over the same period.

Adani Green Energy shares have a 52-week range of Rs 765 to Rs 1,631.50 on the NSE. At the prevailing market price, the company had a market capitalisation of Rs 2,06,852.38 crore.
