A meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ended in Alaska without clear steps toward what Trump said was his goal: a cease-fire in Ukraine. While the summit appeared to yield no concrete results, one political observer said the meeting worked to Putin’s advantage by normalizing his role on the world stage.
