For Kansas City (6-6), the club’s fading hopes of making the playoffs may depend on the outcome of this game. Houston’s daunting defense, which ranks first in total yards (265.7) and points (16.5) allowed, will be the toughest test Mahomes, who will be without three starting offensive linemen, have faced this season. And it couldn’t come at a worse time.
