Arkia Israeli Airlines launched direct flights from Tel Aviv to Bangkok, enhancing Thailand’s air access. This aligns with TAT’s strategy to boost travel from high-value markets, especially Israel.

Inaugural Flight and Strategic Expansion

Bangkok, 27 November 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated the arrival of Arkia Israeli Airlines’ first direct flight from Tel Aviv to Bangkok on 26 November. Flight IZ591 landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, marking a significant expansion in Thailand’s long-haul air connectivity. This new route aligns with TAT’s strategy to enhance access from high-potential markets through strengthened direct connections, supporting the growth of Thailand’s tourism industry.

Collaborative Efforts and Market Growth

A welcome ceremony, attended by Ms. Pornsiri Chardpornpun, Director of the Europe Market Division, and Ms. Meytal Dahan Mizrahi, COO of Arkia, highlighted the collaboration between Thailand’s tourism sectors. Ms. Pornsiri emphasized that Arkia’s direct service improves Thailand’s global competitiveness and appeals to quality travelers. Operating with an Airbus A330-200, Arkia offers two weekly flights, providing a vital alternative to El Al Israel Airlines and boosting market growth through joint promotional efforts.

Strong Israeli Market Impact

Israel remains a critical source market, with 356,446 Israeli arrivals recorded between January and November 2025, marking a 50% increase year-on-year. The new flight service caters to high-value, long-stay Israeli travelers who spend an average of 86,406 Baht per trip over 19 days. With consistent demand and advanced bookings in top ranks, TAT projects over 400,000 Israeli arrivals by the end of 2025, potentially generating 34.56 billion Baht in tourism revenue.
