Swiss International Air Lines said on Sunday it was extending the suspension of flights to and from Dubai up to and including March 4th “due to the ongoing tense situation in the Middle East.”
Flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended until and including March 8th, SWISS added.
“Our aircraft will not use the airspace of the United Arab Emirates” until March 4th, and “we will continue to avoid the airspace of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait and Bahrain” until March 8th, the Swiss flag carrier said.
The airline, which is part of the Lufthansa group, said it was offering passengers a refund or a free rebooking to a later date.
After the United States and Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, prompting retaliatory strikes by Tehran across the Gulf region, SWISS cancelled its Dubai flights for the weekend and its Tel Aviv flights until March 7th.
