StartupTN, Tamil Nadu Government’s nodal agency for startups and innovation under the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, has invited applications for the 8th edition of the Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Fund (Tanseed).
The seed fund will operate on a support equity-linked grant model where StartupTN will provide financial support of ₹15 lakh to Green Tech, Rural Impact and Women-led startups, and up to ₹10 lakh to startups in other sectors. It will take a 3 per cent support stake in beneficiary startups.
StartupTN will also provide startups with a one-year accelerator programme, which includes mentorship support, priority access to networking events and opportunities to participate in national and international startup delegations, a release from the agency said.
Since its inception in 2021, proceeds from Tanseed have been sanctioned to 169 startups. Some of the major startups who have seen further funding rounds include IppoPay, Buyofuel and GalaxEye Space Solutions.
The agency mandates prospective startups applying for Tanseed to be working on innovation, development or must have high potential for employment generation, social impact or wealth creation. The startup must also be registered in Tamil Nadu and StartupTN, and be recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.
Applications can be submitted online through the StartupTN portal from December 6 to December 20, 2025.
