On December 16, 2025, Bangkok witnessed the launch of SCAT Airlines’ Shymkent–Bangkok service. This new route enhances air connectivity between Thailand and Kazakhstan, catering to the growing demand from Central Asia. The event was graced by key figures including H.E. Mr. Margulan Baimuhan, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Thailand, and Ms. Chiravadee Khunsub from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The collaboration between public and private sectors underscores the importance of this initiative in boosting international travel.

Ms. Chiravadee highlighted the benefits of the new service, stating it opens opportunities for businesses and travelers. With Thailand’s visa exemptions allowing extended stays, the country remains an attractive destination for Kazakhstani tourists. SCAT Airlines operates this route twice a week, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, indicating a promising start with 140 passengers on its inaugural flight.
