Onex’s credit arm, headed by Ronnie Jaber, is emerging as a bright spot for the Toronto-based firm, with structured credit — particularly collateralized loan obligations — lifting the firm’s earnings. Onex is currently one of the top 10 CLO issuers globally, compared with a ranking in the mid-20s a couple of years ago, according to Le Blanc.
