
BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. According to the
decision of the court in Yekaterinburg, the sixth defendant in the
case concerning the group of Azerbaijanis, Bakir Safarov, will also
remain in custody for 72 hours, Trend reports.
According to local media, the state prosecutor declined to
comment.
17:26 (GMT+4) The Leninsky District Court of
Russia’s Yekaterinburg remanded Aklhiman Ganjiev in custody for
three days in connection with his detention as a suspect, Trend reports.
Akhliman Ganjiev’s lawyer told reporters that his client has
difficulty moving.
At present, the defense intends to achieve justice.
16:09 (GMT+4) The Leninsky District Court of
Russia’s Yekaterinburg remanded Shakhin Lalayev in custody for
three days in connection with his detention as a suspect, Trend reports.
Currently, the court is considering the issue of choosing a
preventive measure against Ganjiev Akhliman Sattar oglu.
Then Bakir Safarov will appear in court.

person to be remanded in custody in connection with the events that
took place in Russia’s Yekaterinburg in the early 2000s, Trend reports.
Like two other Azerbaijanis detained in this case, Mazahir and
Akif Safarov, he was remanded in custody for 22 days.
It is reported that traces of injuries are visible on Ayaz
Safarov’s face.

Safarov, who was detained as a suspect in Yekaterinburg, was

13:30 (GMT+4) A court in Russia’s Yekaterinburg
has sentenced Akif Safarov to 22 days of pretrial detention,
Trend reports.
He is listed as a suspect.
12:51 (GMT+4) Another defendant in the case,
Akif Safarov, born in 1963, has been brought to the courtroom,
Trend reports.
Like the other detainees, he is suspected of involvement in
events that took place in Yekaterinburg in the early 2000s.
The investigation is requesting that he be placed in pre-trial
detention. The court hearing is being held behind closed doors.
Preliminary information indicates that Safarov is the director
of the “Caspian” café in Yekaterinburg. He is married and has adult
children.
12:19 (GMT+4) Mazahir Safarov has been remanded
in custody for 22 days as part of the trial of nine Azerbaijanis
who were forcibly detained in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg,
Trend reports.
He and several other Azerbaijanis are accused of contract
killings. Some of them will be sentenced today.
The acting Consul General of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg,
Shokhrat Mustafayev, and the chairman of the public organization
“Azerbaijan-Ural”, which heads the Azerbaijani diaspora in
Yekaterinburg, Shahin Shikhlinsky are also participating in the
trial.
On the morning of June 27, officers of the Federal Security
Service of Russia conducted a raid on the homes of Azerbaijanis in
Yekaterinburg. As a result of the operation, two Azerbaijanis – the
brothers of Seyfaddin Huseynli were killed. Several more people
were detained.
