Alireza Karami is one of the victims who died in Tehran during Iran’s violent crackdown on anti-regime protests. The image of his loyal dog, Ariel, at his graveside, has gained widespread attention on social media. Speaking with RFE/RL’s Radio Farda, a close acquaintance said Karami was shot while trying to help an injured woman. Before his death, the 26-year-old auto body repairman left a touching testament for his beloved pet.
