ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 1. In the coming
year, Kazakhstan intends to create a National Artificial
Intelligence Center that will provide the backbone for the nation’s
digital transformation infrastructure, Trend reports.
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made this statement
during a meeting with Microsoft President for Central Europe and
Central Asia, Michelle Simmons.
The meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation between
Kazakhstan and Microsoft in developing the IT industry and creating
a comprehensive ecosystem for startups. Microsoft informed
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that they have transformed their office in
Kazakhstan into a multi-regional hub, encompassing Central Asia,
Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia, and Pakistan.
Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan is actively working on legislation
in the field of artificial intelligence, aiming to leverage its
potential for innovation and economic growth. In turn, Michelle
Simmons emphasized that Microsoft intends to continue fruitful
cooperation with Kazakhstan on digital development.
Last year, Microsoft decided to open a multi-regional hub in
Kazakhstan. The Minister of Digital Development of Kazakhstan and
the CEO of Microsoft for Kazakhstan reached the relevant agreements
during a bilateral meeting.
