
BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The first event
at the newly opened “House of Azerbaijan” in Prague, the capital of
the Czech Republic, took place recently, Trend reports.
According to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the
“House of Azerbaijan” hosted an art exhibition dedicated to the
100th anniversary of national poet Nabi Khazri.
The opening ceremony was attended by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of
the State Committee on Work with Diaspora; Adish Mamedov,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the
Czech Republic; Milan Ekert, a representative of the Czech Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador of the Czech Republic to
Azerbaijan; Bakit Dyusenbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the
Czech Republic; members of the Azerbaijani community, and local
public figures.
Leyla Beyim Dzhafarova, Coordinator of the Coordinating Council
of Azerbaijanis in Eastern Europe for the Czech Republic, founder
of the “Natavan” society, and head of the “House of Azerbaijan” in
Prague, gave a detailed introduction to the exhibition and
explained that it was organized with inspiration from the line “We
planted a pomegranate branch” from Nabi Khazri’s poem.
The exhibition showcased works by Azerbaijani artists. The
pieces, filled with deep philosophical meaning, generated great
interest among the attendees.
The “House of Azerbaijan” in Prague officially opened on
November 6 this year. There are now “Houses of Azerbaijan” in 18
countries, playing a key role in raising global awareness about
Azerbaijan, combating misinformation, promoting the study of
Azerbaijani history, culture, and language, and strengthening ties
between local communities and the diaspora.
