Condition of person injured in mine explosion in Aghdara disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 11. Condition of
person injured in mine explosion in Aghdara disclosed, Trend reports citing the
Barda Central District Hospital.

It is reported that following a mine incident that occurred in
the territory of the village of Gyzyloba in the Aghdara district,
liberated from occupation, a man born in 1988 was hospitalized on
January 11, 2026, at around 14:40 in the emergency department of
the Barda Central District Hospital.

The patient was diagnosed with blast trauma and a traumatic
amputation of the lower third of the right leg. He is currently
undergoing surgery, and his condition is assessed as stable.

14:54 (GMT+4) On January 11, a mine exploded in
the territory of the village of Gyzyloba in the Aghdara district,
Trend reports citing the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action
(ANAMA).




An employee of a non-governmental organization involved in
humanitarian demining operations, Elvin Karimov, born in 1988, was
injured after triggering an anti-personnel mine while performing
his official duties. As a result of the incident, the victim’s
right leg was amputated at the ankle.

Elvin Karimov was evacuated to the central district hospital.
His condition is assessed as satisfactory.
