Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) signed an agreement to construct a dedicated Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) pipeline from its Malkapur Installation to the Fuel Farm at GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL).
“ This dedicated ATF pipeline reinforces our continued commitment to building robust, future-ready energy infrastructure while actively reducing carbon emissions by minimising road transportation of fuel,’’ Sanjeev Kumar, Business Head – Aviation, BPCL said in a release on Wednesday.
Pradeep Panicker, Chief Executive Officer, GHIAL, said: “This initiative aligns closely with our vision of delivering cost-efficient and sustainable solutions.’’
The proposed ATF pipeline will span over 56 kilometres, including one kilometre within the airport premises. Once operational, the pipeline will function on a common carrier basis, facilitating seamless and efficient transportation of aviation fuel while significantly reducing dependence on road-based fuel logistics, the release said.
