Andhra Pradesh Government will request the Centre to recognise Amaravati as the State Capital, according to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The State Government had already requested the Center to notify Amaravati as the capital earlier but would request again to hasten the process, Naidu said in his interaction with the farmers in the State Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday.

The State Government would also request for the extension of the tax benefit and capital gains for a few more years, he said.

Review meeting

Earlier, in a review meeting with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and the officials of the Endowments Department, Naidu said Tirumala should be developed as a world class centre of spirituality, annadanam, education and health. Priority should be given for quick and hassle free darshan for the commoners.

All the hospitals being maintained by TTD should render services on par with Sri Sathyasai hospital of Puttaparthi, he said medical experts should be invited as Srivari sevaks to render free medical services to people. All the services should be brought under Whatsapp governance for the convenience of devotees and elaborate arrangements should be made for Vaikunta Ekadasi darshan.
