aerpace Industries has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government to contribute its specialised expertise in developing the Drone City in Andhra Pradesh.

The company will focus on developing critical technologies in the Drone City, including unmanned defence systems and heavy-lift electric VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) platforms. Specifically, aerpace’s work in building comprehensive safety frameworks, testing standards, and full-stack autonomous aviation infrastructure directly aligns with the Drone City’s plan to create an end-to-end ecosystem for unmanned systems, making the company a valuable asset in turning this vision into a reality.

The Drone City will create a strong centre for drone technology in India, reducing the need to rely on other countries.

It will create new jobs, help farmers with better crop monitoring, improve disaster response and make India a leader in this important future technology.

Ravi Soni, Executive Director, aerpace Industries said through the collaboration in Drone City the company will co-create cutting-edge technologies and operational frameworks that will define the next generation of aerial mobility and security.

The Drone City will come up on 300-acres at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.

The primary purpose of Drone City was to create a unified platform that accelerates innovation and reduces fragmentation in the industry, ultimately strengthening India’s global position in unmanned technology.

By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators, the initiative aims to advance the use of drones in key sectors such as defence, agriculture, logistics and disaster management, fostering a future-ready technological environment.
