Most of Switzerland is on a heatwave alert
Switzerland’s official weather service, MeteoSchweiz, has declared the second-highest danger level for large parts of the country — temperatures of up to 35C are expected over the next few days.
Temperatures are likely to rise to between 32 and 34C on the southern side of the Alps, with a relative humidity of up to 55 percent. Even at night, it is unlikely to cool down below 20C, the weather service said.
The very hot and humid weather will affect all regions until Thursday, according to the forecast:

‘Don’t criticise Trump’: Expert tips on how to avoid being refused entry to the US
With more reports of foreign tourists — including people from Switzerland — being banned from entering the United States after their social media accounts are checked upon arrival, a Swiss cyber security expert advises people to delete any potentially harmful information from smarphones before travelling to the United States.
“When you enter the US, you can be subjected to this type of search for no obvious reason,” Stéphane Koch told RTS public broadcaster on Sunday. “You can be forced to provide your passwords and access to your phone.”
Therefore, “be careful about the criticisms you make on social media , particularly about the Trump administration. It seems that in some cases, this could be grounds for refusal.”

Gender pay gap still exists in Switzerland, government study reveals
In 2024, the median annual salary in Switzerland for a full-time job has reached 81,500 francs.
Behind this overall figure, however, significant inequalities persist between men and women.
This is what emerges from the new analysis that the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) has released on Friday.
It shows not only that pay disparity between men and women still exists, but also that it is quite significant.
Among full-time employees, 32 percent of men earned an annual income of more than 104,000 francs — a salary that only 21.7 percent of women received for the same job.
Even in high managerial positions, the median salary for male senior executives was 139,000 francs a year, compared to 120,000 francs for women.
