Thai listed companies maintain strong corporate governance standards, achieving top performance in ASEAN, especially in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard 2024. Additionally, they actively promote social and environmental responsibility.
Thai listed companies uphold robust corporate governance standards, securing the top spot in the ASEAN Asset Class Award and achieving the highest average score in the 2024 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. This accomplishment reflects the adoption of new assessment criteria that thoroughly evaluate business operations, emphasizing good governance principles, social and environmental responsibility, and sustainable growth for both the companies and their value chains.
On July 24, 2025, the Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG) in Kuala Lumpur announced the results of the 2024 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ASEAN CG Scorecard) assessment. Supported by the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the event recognized ASEAN listed companies for their good corporate governance and ESG practices. This was the first assessment conducted using the updated 2023 ASEAN CG Scorecard criteria, which align with the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance 2023.
The 2024 ASEAN CG Scorecard features three distinct award categories:
(1) The ASEAN Asset Class PLCs Award recognizes listed firms that reach a score of 97.50 points or higher (75 percent of the maximum 130 points). Among the 250 award recipients, Thai-listed companies represent the highest number, totaling 74.
(2) The ASEAN Top 50 PLCs Award recognizes the top 50 publicly listed companies that attain the highest scores in the ASEAN region. In this context, Thailand has 16 companies, Malaysia has 17, Singapore has 8, the Philippines has 5, and Indonesia has 4 companies.
(3) The Country Top 5 PLCs Award recognizes the five listed companies with the highest scores in each nation. In Thailand, the awardees, listed alphabetically, are PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC), SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCGP), and Thai Oil Public Company Limited (TOP).
