Chiang Mai Takes the Spotlight

In 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) proudly announced that Chiang Mai was named the No. 1 City in Asia and No. 2 globally by Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards. Known for its cordial people and incredible food, Chiang Mai captivates with its ancient temples like Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, vibrant night markets, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Ethical elephant encounters also stand out as a unique highlight for visitors.

Bangkok’s Remarkable Achievements

Bangkok, a Hall of Fame honouree, ranked No. 3 in Asia and No. 4 globally. With a Reader Score of 91.34, it is celebrated for its dynamic energy and cultural depth. Praised as “fascinating and exciting,” Bangkok offers iconic temples, world-class cuisine, lively street markets, and diverse nightlife, making it a top destination for travelers seeking varied experiences.

Thailand’s Stunning Islands

In the Best Islands in Asia category, Thailand shone with Phuket and Ko Samui securing spots four and five. Phuket dazzled with stunning beaches and luxury resorts, earning an 89.47 Reader Score, while Ko Samui charmed with its relaxed atmosphere and tropical beauty. TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool expressed pride in Thailand’s diverse and rich travel experiences, as showcased in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, which are greatly valued by travelers worldwide.
