
Kotak Mahindra Bank’s President and Chief Credit Officer resigns.

Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Phani Shankar, President and Chief Credit Officer (Senior Management Personnel), has tendered his resignation from the services of the Bank. The resignation is effective from the close of the day on July 21, 2025.
The Bank, in a regulatory filing, said it has put in place necessary interim arrangements for the smooth functioning of the Credit function.
In his resignation letter to KMB’s MD & CEO Ashok Vaswani, Phani Shankar said, “…I would like to move on to devote more time for my personal life and priorities. Please treat this as my formal resignation from the services of the bank.”
Phani Shankar, is an engineer from NIT Allahabad and holds a Diploma in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad. He joined Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB) as part of the merger of ING Vysya Bank with KMB in 2015. He was Head of Financial Markets in ING Vysya Bank for about 8 years.
