The Tourism Authority of Thailand launches “Village to the World,” transforming communities into ESG models through public-private partnerships, promoting sustainable tourism for national development.

Transforming Communities with Sustainable Tourism

On 7 July 2025, Bangkok witnessed the launch of the ‘Village to the World #SustainableAgenda’. Spearheaded by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) alongside the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and private partners, this initiative aims to showcase Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in local communities. This program positions sustainable tourism as a cornerstone of Thailand’s long-term development under TAT’s strategic vision.

Collaborative Efforts for Lasting Impact

Led by TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the launch event gathered leaders like Dr. Soraphol Tulayasathien from SET and key cultural figures. The initiative encourages a balance between economic, social, and environmental outcomes. SET-listed companies will partner with seven prototype communities across five provinces, creating scalable models for sustainable growth.

Driving Local and National Transformation

The initiative features diverse projects such as digital skill-building in Chiang Mai, circular economy models in Nan, and sustainable tourism in Phitsanulok. These communities, involved in public-private collaborations, aim to become national examples of sustainable growth. Supported by travel and airline partners, the campaign emphasizes shifting from traditional CSR to creating Shared Value for long-term national sustainability.
