Kyrgyz president emphasizes Tajikistan inter-parliamentary engagement

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 9. Kyrgyzstan
attaches great importance to strengthening inter-parliamentary
dialogue with Tajikistan, President Sadyr Zhaparov said, Trend reports via the
administration of the president of Kyrgyzstan.

He made the statement during a meeting with the Chairman of the
National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan, Rustam
Emomali in Dushanbe. The discussions took place as part of
Zhaparov’s state visit to Tajikistan.

Zhaparov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views the development of
inter-parliamentary relations as an integral component of steadily
progressing bilateral ties. In this context, the president
underlined the important role of parliaments in ensuring
coordinated efforts to comprehensively expand and enrich
Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation.

“The Kyrgyz side is firmly committed to working with the Tajik
side to create conditions aimed at the peaceful, secure, and stable
development of both nations,” Zhaparov stated.

During the talks, Emomali noted that the visit of the Kyrgyz
President is a significant milestone in the history of bilateral
relations and opens new horizons for both interstate and
inter-parliamentary cooperation.

He also expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to further deepen
inter-parliamentary engagement, including through joint events and
by expanding contacts between parliamentary committees and
friendship groups.
