SJVN has signed an agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to supply power from its 900-MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project in Nepal and power purchase agreements (PPAs) with UPPCL for supply of power from its upcoming 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project (HEP) and 382 MW Sunni Dam HEP in Himachal Pradesh, Shimla-based SJVN said in a statement. Together, these projects will add 592 MW of green energy to the national grid. These HEP will generate 2140 MU of electricity annually. Both projects are expected to be commissioned by December 2028.
Hindware has inaugurated its third manufacturing facility at Roorkee in Uttarakhand. The new facility will manufacture a wide range of CPVC, UPVC, SWR and PVC pipes and fittings, as well as overhead water storage tanks, the company said in a statement. Truflo is a Hindware brand in the plastic pipes and fittings segment.
The Competition Commission of India has ordered a probe into allegations made by Aditya Birla Group company Grasim Industries against Asian Paints for the alleged abuse of its dominant position in the paints segment. As per the material placed on record by Grasim Industries, it appears that Asian Paints has been restraining third parties like suppliers of essential raw materials, warehousing landlords, C&F agents and transporters from engaging with Grasim Industries, which has led to denial of market access to competitors like Grasim Industries.
Paras Anti Drone Technologies Pvt Ltd, subsidiary of Paras Defence and Space Technologies, has announced that France-based company CERBAIR has expressed interest in acquiring up to 30 CHIMERA 200 systems, an advanced man portable radio frequency detection and neutralisation device against drone and swarm drone threats. The deal, once it materialises, would be worth approximately ₹22 crore (€2.2 million), adding to India’s effort to emerge as a reliable exporter of drone and counter-drone technologies, Paras Anti Drone Technologies said in a statement. Paras Anti Drone is a subsidiary of Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd.
Tata Steel has awarded a major contract to Welsh engineering firm Systems Group for the first phase of the refurbishment of its two continuous casters in Port Talbot, South Wales in the UK, a statement said on Tuesday. Systems Group, based in Maesteg, will carry out critical structural work and pipework replacement on Port Talbot’s two continuous casters – an essential part of the steelmaking process, turning liquid steel from the Electric Arc Furnace into solid steel slab The scheme is a key part of Tata Steel UK’s GBP 1.25 billion transition to greener steelmaking.
Shares of Piccadily Agro Industries will be listed on the National Stock Exchange today. The homegrown alcobev maker, which is already listed on the BSE, said this dual listing on both the leading bourses will offer enhanced visibility, credibility and liquidity in the capital markets, according to a statement on Tuesday. Piccadily Agro Industries is the largest independent malt manufacturer and seller of malt spirits in India. It owns Indri Single Malt and Camikara rum.
Lupin has created a separate entity for its consumer healthcare business. LupinLife Consumer Healthcare Ltd will be a wholly-owned subsidiary from July 1, the company said. In a move similar to industry peers who created separate outfits for consumer healthcare, Lupin said, its specialised consumer healthcare entity will focus on India’s rapidly growing self-care market. Drugmakers including Cipla, Glenmark and Mankind Pharma, besides international drugmakers Sanofi, to name a few, have adopted a similar strategy. Anil Kaushal will lead Lupin’s new independent entity as Chief Executive Officer, the company said, adding that the restructuring would enable enhanced focus with targeted investments.
The Competition Commission of India has cleared Murugappa Group firm Coromandel International’s proposal to acquire a stake in NACL Industries. NACL, a listed entity, operates in the agro-chemical sector, offers crop protection products and active ingredients. “The proposed combination comprises acquisition of certain equity shares in NACL Industries Ltd (NACL) by Coromandel International Ltd (CIL),” the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said in a release. In March this year, Coromandel International announced the acquisition of a majority — 53 per cent — stake in NACL Industries Ltd for ₹820 crore. The company also said that it proposes to make an open offer to the public to acquire up to 26 per cent of the equity share capital in agro-chemical firm NACL Industries.

JSW Energy has signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement with Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam for a 250 MW / 500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system. The agreement signed via JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven, a step-down subsidiary of of the company, requires JSW Energy to set up the energy storage projects under the Build, Own and Operate model of Rajasthan.
