MNRK Music Group, formerly known as eOne Music, has acquired L.A.-headquartered label Prosthetic Records and its catalog of heavy metal releases.

Prosthetic Records will now operate under the MNRK Heavy umbrella. In a statement on Monday (June 9), MNRK didn’t disclose the value of the transaction, but it teased new Prosthetic releases, including from hardcore/mathcore band Pupil Slicer and experimental noise rock outfit God Alone.

MNRK Heavy says it plans to “amplify” the Prosthetic roster and catalog through a strategy involving digital platforms, physical formats, and special releases.

“Fans can look forward to anniversary reissues, meticulously remastered editions, and curated collections that celebrate the label’s storied history,” MNRK stated.

Scott Givens, MNRK’s SVP of Rock & Metal, added: “Prosthetic Records has been a trailblazer in the metal scene. This acquisition is a strategic step in MNRK’s continued investment in heavy music and aligns perfectly with our vision for MNRK Heavy.”

Founded in 1998 by E.J. Johantgen and Dan Fitzgerald, Prosthetic Records has been behind landmark releases from acts such as Lamb of God, The Acacia Strain, Septicflesh, Venom Prison, and others.

eOne Music rebranded as MNRK Music Group in 2021, after Hasbro sold the company to entities controlled by Blackstone for USD $385 million.

The company’s assets included production house Audio Network, which it acquired in 2019 in a $215 million deal.

It also owned the legendary hip-hop label Death Row Records, which Snoop Dogg acquired from MNRK for an undisclosed sum in 2022.Music Business Worldwide
