Whether you are interested in food, music, art, or sports, you can partake in all these events that take place across Switzerland during the month of June.
Street Food Festival, Geneva — June 5th to June 15th
For the 10th edition this year, more than 60 food trucks and stands will serve local and other specialties.
There will also be a lineup of DJs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, along with a large children’s playground and other attractions — all on the ground of Plainpalais.
‘Ascona in allegria’— June 6th to June 8th
This outdoor ‘theatre’ will take place in a picturesque Ticino community of Ascona.
Street artists will include mimes, dancers, jugglers, tightrope walkers, fire breathers, musicians, clowns, and many more.
The shows, which take place in the centre of town are free of charge and — according to organisers — fill spectators with joy — allegria in Italian.
Pentecost market, Vitznau (Lucerne) — June 7th
The holiday itself is on Monday, but this traditional open-air market takes place on the Saturday.
The market features plenty of food, a huge tombola, and top music bands performing late into the night.
What also adds allure to the festive atmosphere is that the town is very scenically located on the shore of Lake Lucerne, called Vierwaldstättersee by the locals (no, you don’t have to learn to pronounce it).
Swiss Federal Gymnastics Festival, Lausanne — June 12th to June 22nd
The 77th annual event will bring together 70,000 gymnasts and 300,000 spectators from all over Switzerland.
There will be 140 competitions, a gymnastics show, and entertainment spread over three districts — all within walking distance of each other.

Tour de Suisse — June 15th to June 22nd
If you are not looking to break a sweat yourself while bicycling, but are in the mood for a sporting event nonetheless (as a spectator), you can join others at host cities across Switzerland for this year’s Tour de Suisse.
You can also watch this event from the comfort of your sofa.

This year’s edition will focus on both established and emerging artists.

Zurich Pride Festival — June 20th and June 21st
Zurich’s annual Pride Festival will be held once again in the city’s Kasernenareal and the Zeughaushof, and is open to everyone.
The festival sites can be reached from Zurich’s main station on foot in just under 10 minutes and entry to the event is free.
The highlight of every Zurich Pride Festival is the parade and concerts by national and international artists on the grounds.
Stäcketöri Festival, Zäziwil (Bern) — June 20th to June 22nd
Dance the nights – and days – away at the Stäcketöri Festival in Zäziwil, in the Emmental region of Switzerland.
You can llisten to many musical genres — from local hip hop to a women’s alphorn ensemble — from established as well as up-and-coming artists.
Zoë Më, who represented Switzerland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, will also perform.
