2025 MLB MVP race, odds: Judge, Ohtani favored for AL, NL MVPs

The MLB season is picking up steam.

Let’s take a look at the odds for which two players will separate themselves from the rest by winning MVP at the end of the year, with odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of May 27.

American League MVP 2025

Aaron Judge: -2000 (bet $10 to win $10.50 total)
Bobby Witt Jr.: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Jose Ramirez: +9000 (bet $10 to win $910 total)
Gunnar Henderson: +9000 (bet $10 to win $910 total)
Cal Raleigh: +9000 (bet $10 to win $910 total)

What to know: We’re about two months into the 2025 season, and the AL MVP race appears … over? Aaron Judge — last year’s winner — has been this year’s favorite since before Opening Day. As we approach June, Judge is leading the AL in batting average (.398), home runs (18) and hits (80), and is second in RBIs (47). Simply put, he is the best hitter in baseball. Judge is looking to become the first back-to-back AL MVP winner since Miguel Cabrera won the award in 2012 and 2013.

National League MVP 2025

Shohei Ohtani: -130 (bet $10 to win $17.69 total)
Fernando Tatis Jr.: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total)
Corbin Carroll: +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total)
Pete Crow-Armstrong: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
Kyle Tucker: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Pete Alonso: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)

What to know: Shohei Ohtani is in the same boat as Judge, opening the year as the favorite after winning the NL MVP last season and only seeing his odds shorten. Currently, he leads the NL — and MLB — in home runs (19) and is third in hits (68). Presumably, his RBIs would be higher (he only has 33) if he didn’t bat leadoff, meaning he is often up to the plate with no runners in scoring position. Ohtani is looking to win back-to-back NL MVP awards for the first time since Albert Pujols did it in 2008 and 2009. However, he won the AL MVP in 2023 and NL MVP in 2024, making him the first player in MLB history to win MVP back-to-back in each league.
