Der 1. Mai, besser bekannt als Tag der Arbeit, ist in der Schweiz nicht überall ein gesetzlicher Feiertag. In acht Kantonen ist am 1. Mai offiziell frei: Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Jura, Neuenburg, Schaffhausen, Tessin, Thurgau und Zürich. Wer dort wohnt oder arbeitet, kann sich über einen arbeitsfreien Tag freuen.
