Mine accident reported in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. A mine explosion
occurred in the vicinity of Galaychilar village in Azerbaijan’s
Aghdam region, resulting in injuries to three individuals, Trend reports.

The victims – two men and one woman – were transported to the
emergency department of the Barda Central District Hospital.

Sabuhi Mammadov suffered a traumatic amputation of his right
ankle joint. He has been scheduled for surgery, and his condition
is assessed as serious.

Deniz Mammadova sustained shrapnel wounds to both lower
extremities and the chest. Elmar Mammadov suffered shrapnel
injuries to both legs, the anterior abdominal wall, and the left
arm. Doctors describe their conditions as stable, and treatment is
ongoing.

Deniz and Elmar are the children of Sabuhi Mammadov, who was
also injured in the explosion.

A mine incident occurred in the village of Galaychylar in
Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Trend reports.

Sabuhi Mammadova, a resident of Galaychylar, sustained leg
injuries from an anti-personnel mine explosion while entering an
area not yet cleared of mines.

The victim was immediately evacuated to the hospital. The Aghdam
District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident.

The Agency for Mine Action of the Republic of Azerbaijan
(ANAMA), along with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the
Attorney General’s Office, once again urges citizens to follow
safety rules, pay attention to mine hazard signs, and avoid
entering unfamiliar areas.
