Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports launched a seven-month “Thailand Summer Festivals,” featuring 70 events across cultural, musical, and sports categories, to boost tourism and economic growth in 2025.

Launch of Thailand Summer Festivals

Bangkok, February 26, 2025 – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has unveiled the Thailand Summer Festivals, a seven-month spectacle under ‘7 Months, 7 Wonders’ from March to September 2025. Boasting over 70 events across seven categories—including Songkran, Pride, Cultural Festivals, Music, Sports, Food, and Arts—this initiative forms part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025. It aims to position Thailand as a top global travel destination.

Vision and Economic Goals

Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra emphasized tourism’s critical role in Thailand’s economy, contributing over 14% to GDP. The festivals aim to promote Thailand as a year-round travel destination, minimizing low-season impacts while enhancing local economies. Prime Minister Paetongtarn highlighted the goal of reaching 3.5 trillion Baht in tourism revenue through these festivals.

Cultural Heritage and Global Engagement

Cultural significance shines with events like the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, celebrating Thailand’s traditions and recognized by UNESCO. Minister Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol noted Songkran’s role in elevating Thailand’s standing in cultural heritage. The festivities, integrating heritage and modernity, attract global audiences and showcase Thailand as a premier festival hub, fostering tourism and economic growth. These initiatives aim to strengthen Thailand’s global cultural presence and preserve its rich traditions.
